Walk into Cowfish and, before you even reach the water, you'll notice the art. Our living wall is home to a rotating featured local artist, someone whose work captures what makes the East End feel like home. Right now, that artist is photographer Robert Seifert, and we couldn't be prouder to share his work with our guests.
A Local Through and Through
Robert is a husband and father of two who has lived on the south shore of eastern Long Island since childhood. Summer weekends find him at the beach with his family, swimming in the ocean and the bays. The rest of the year, he's out hiking the island, always with a camera in hand.
Those outings are where his passion lives. Robert sets out on local photo expeditions along Long Island's coastlines and through its rural back roads, looking for the hidden treasures most of us pass without a second glance. Browse his portfolio and you'll find sunsets over Orient, waves breaking at Shinnecock Inlet, potato fields in Eastport and a snowy Westhampton Beach. It's a love letter to the East End, one frame at a time.
Art with a Purpose
Robert's care for this place goes beyond the camera. He has donated his images to local organizations including Quogue Wildlife Refuge, Group for the East End and Peconic Baykeeper, helping them protect the rural heritage and natural beauty of eastern Long Island. As a freelance photographer, he also shoots portraits, events, architecture, products and editorial work.
Find Him on Our Walls, and in Your Mailbox
Robert's photography is on display on the living wall at Cowfish, and it has made our space more beautiful. He also took the photo on our official Cowfish postcard: a glowing sunset over the restaurant, reflected in the water. You'll find a stack of them in our foyer. They're real postcards, so grab one on your way in or out, add a note and send a little piece of Hampton Bays to someone you love.
Take a Piece Home
If Robert's work stays with you after your visit, we hope you'll bring some of it home.
